Faith Flight PlanAugust 30, 2005
Following controversy about evangelical Christians forcing their faith on others, the Air Force has now issued new guidelines for Chaplains and other officials. Kansas City Star | 08/30/2005 | Air Force issues faith guidelines
There's some really good advice in this report that all of us should remember:
It urges everyone to "respect the rights of others to their own religious beliefs, including the right to hold no beliefs."
It urges commanders "to be sensitive to the potential that personal expressions may appear to be official expressions."
And it says that "abuse or disrespect" toward someone because of their religious beliefs is unacceptable.
Amen! Even those of us not in the Air Force should follow these suggestions. Forced faith is not real faith. Preach the Gospel, but do so appropriately and with respect.
