Indecent Televangelists?

November 30, 2005

Some televangelists are fighting attempts by anti-indecency groups to remove racy programming. Televangelists on Unusual Side in Indecency Debate - Los Angeles Times

The proposal would allow consumers to pick what channels they want instead of buying bundles, which may include racy or religious channels.

When it was pointed out that opposing this legislation put them on the opposite side of where they usually are in the indecency debate, TBN's Paul Crouch responded with, "so be it."

It seems that televangelists like Crouch, Pat Robertson, and Jerry Falwell are more concerned about making money than fighting indecency (I always thought they were indecent—not racy, but that they preached a grotesque version of "Christianity").
