Persecuted Christians?

January 15, 2006

Here is a crazy story: AP Wire 01/11/2006 House leaders offer some relief for 'persecuted' Christians. Apparently some Christians in Georgia felt persecuted so they are pushing for legislation to protect themselves. One stated:

"As a group, Christians are feeling more and more persecuted in our country. ... As a Christian, I feel more persecuted."

Really?! In Georgia?! How can a Bible belt majority be persecuted? These Christians need to read Fox's Book of Martyrs and quit complaining because they obviously have no clue what persecution is really like. How about spending your time and energy helping stop real persecution where Christians are being killed? The real threat to American Christianity is not external persecution but internal shallowness and self-centeredness.
