A politician is telling churches what to say. Colorado Republican Tom Tancredo has attacked churches for being against a bill to combat illegal immigration. He stated:

"The faith community must step forward and tell leftist activists that undermining border security is not a religious imperative. ... As a person of faith, I was offended by these radical advocates invoking God when arguing for blanket amnesty."

Representative Tancredo has apparently not read much of the Bible. The Old Testament code talked about not mistreating aliens, and Jesus talked about helping the poor and downtrodden. But what is most troubling here is a politician telling churches what they should say and what issues they should not speak up on. Just who does he think he is? This highlights the danger of getting too supportive of one political party—they then begin to think they can tell you what to say or do.
