Friday Photo(s)

November 09, 2012

During the presidential campaign, two neighbors--one with an Obama-Biden sign and one with a Romney-Ryan sign--put up signs pointing to each other saying, "And we're still friends" (below is a photo of all the signs and a closeup photo of one of the handmade "friends" ones). It is nice that they can meet in the middle--hopefully just metaphorically since there is a street between them--to highlight what really matters. The neighbors are all Mennonite (one teaches at Eastern Mennonite University, the alma mater of the couple in the other house), and thus are reaffirming their fellow Christians. What a great testimony to not allowing partisan differences to destroy more important things like community and friendship.
