BWA Gathering Has High Points and a Belly Flop

July 09, 2013

Robert Parham wrote a good Ethics Daily column about last week's Annual Gathering of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA). His piece, titled "BWA Gathering Has High Points and a Belly Flop," covers key highlights and the short-changing of the resolutions process. He provides some details about various presentations at the gathering in Jamaica, especially focusing on comments about climate change issues (the photo, which appeared with Parham's column, is one I took of BMS World Mission General Secretary David Kerrigan during a talk on Baptist-Muslim relations). Parham concludes by noting that "for the BWA, friendships are deeper, collaboration is more resilient and the network is stronger among goodwill, global Baptists." It was good to see him there and I appreciate his work to help promote the global Baptist family.
