Muslim Student at Baptist Seminary Likely to Spark SBC Drama

Ethics Daily ran my latest article today, which is titled "Muslim Student at Baptist Seminary Likely to Spark SBC Drama." It covers reactions to the recent news that Paige Patterson, the president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, overrode the school's admission policies to admit a Muslim student. The piece also reports new information that Southwestern was not the first Southern Baptist seminary to admit Muslims into a program as New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (led by Patterson's brother-in-law Chuck Kelley) had already done so with a special program for prison inmates. With some Baptist preachers upset about Patterson's move, the topic could arise at the Southern Baptist Convention's annual meeting this week.
