Baptists Sporadically Issue Condemnations of Genocide

April 13, 2015

April is "Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month," in part because many genocides started in April (it's an eerie coincidence). Ethics Daily is running a heavy focus on the topic this month in hopes of educating Christians about genocide and past policy failures, as well as how to more actively speak against such killings.

My first contribution to the series appeared today with an article titled Baptists Sporadically Issue Condemnations of Genocide. In it I looked at references to genocide in resolutions issued by American Baptist Churches, USA, Southern Baptist Convention, and Baptist World Alliance. The little attention given to such a serious moral concern shows the need of the month-long focus at Ethics Daily and elsewhere. Links to the earlier pieces in the series can be found at the bottom of my article.
