Back in the Pulpit

July 13, 2015

Yesterday I preached at Union Mound Baptist Church in Elkland, Missouri. I served as pastor at the church for a couple of years just over a decade ago (wow, I feel kind of old). It was good to be back to see the wonderful people.

During the morning service, I preached on the story of the paralytic's friends (Luke 5), highlighting the need for a community and the problem of reading scriptures with too much focus on ourself as an individual. During the evening service, I preached about forgiveness and the reconciliation of Jacob and Esau (from Esau's perspective). It was nice to be back in the pulpit.
