Associated Church Press AwardMay 03, 2016
The Associated Church Press (ACP) recently announced its 2016 awards, which honor the work of faith communicators. I won an award! I received an honorable mention in the category "Feature Article - Magazine, Short Format." The winning piece, Reflecting on Violence as Part of Advent, appeared in the December 2015 issue of Word&Way. This is my first ACP award.
As a member publication, Word&Way pieces are eligible for consideration in the awards. My editor, Bill Webb, also won an ACP award in editorial writing. This year I've also won three awards from the Religion Communicators Council (two of which were for Word&Way articles), and Bill won two awards from the Baptist Communicators Association for editorial writing. So we've had a pretty good year for Word&Way! I appreciate the recognition and am honored to be included in the list of many impressive faith communicators.
Word&Way put out a short article about the awards. The piece, Webb, Kaylor Garner Recent Writing Awards, includes links to the various winning articles.
