Global Baptists Consider Paris Agreement, Climate Change

July 08, 2016

My third Ethics Daily report from the annual gathering of the Baptist World Alliance in Vancouver, Canada, focuses on climate change. The piece, Global Baptists Consider Paris Agreement, Climate Change, includes comments from Les Fussell of Australia, Bonny Resu of India, and Fine Akosita Ditoka of the Republic of Fiji.

I traveled to Paris last December for the United Nations climate conference known as COP 21. So I appreciated the attention given at the BWA meeting to the Paris Agreement (and a resolution I helped write will be considered on Friday).

You can see photos I took on Tuesday (day three) here. It not only included serious discussions about climate change, but also some fun.

Hearing the testimony of Fine (in the first photo above) was particularly moving. She's a charismatic voice for her people, disaster relief, and climate action. You can watch a short video featuring her that my Ethics Daily colleague Cliff Vaughn created.
