Two Retiring Bosses

Two Retiring Bosses
I recently attended two dinners honoring retiring bosses of mine: my former boss and predecessor at Word&Way and my longtime boss at Churchnet.

On Sunday (April 23) in Liberty, Mo., former Word&Way Editor & President Bill Webb received the Greg Warner Lifetime Achievement Award in Religious Journalism from Baptist News Global. Bill led Word&Way for 20 years, was my editor when I served as a freelance writer for several years, and could not have been more gracious during the transition as I assumed the role.

On Tuesday (April 25) in Columbia, Mo., retiring Churchnet Executive Director Jim Hill received an "Award of Excellence" from CBF Heartland to honor his statewide advocacy work. Jim has been my boss for his entire 13-year tenure at Churchnet, leading the ministry to make some important changes and serving as a wonderful mentor and role model.
