Churchnet Leadership Development

On Friday, I led a leadership development training session for the Board of Directors of Churchnet (where I serve as Associate Director) on communication and social media. We spent time talking about identifying key messages to highlight, including key words to describe the organization, the organization's values, and looking for "bright spots" that are working particularly well. I also talked about best practices for board members as ambassadors for the organization.

The other leadership development sessions were led by Terrell Carter, pastor of Webster Groves Baptist Church, director of contextualized learning at Central Baptist Theological Seminary, and columnist for Word&Way. His sessions were on "Helping the Church Become a Healing Presence within Racially-Divided Communities." Terrell is a voice more white Baptists and white evangelicals need to hear and ponder. A lot to chew on in his presentations.
