Engaging Hope Without Borders

Next month, Churchnet will hold its 2018 Spring Gathering with the theme Engaging Hope Without Borders. As Associate Director, I've been assisting with planning the event and I'm excited about the program we're putting together. If you are in the area, I hope you will join us on April 20 at University Heights Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo.

Jeremy Bell, the new general secretary of the North American Baptist Fellowship, will be the keynote speaker and will lead a breakout session. I've known Jeremy, a Canadian Baptist leader, for a few years through meetings of the Baptist World Alliance. He's a smart and passionate theologian. I hope Baptists in Missouri will join us in welcoming Jeremy, who just started his role leading the NABF in January.

At BWA meetings last week, I joined my EthicsDaily.com colleague Cliff Vaughn in shooting a couple of short video interviews with Jeremy. In the first, he talks about the NABF. In the second, he talks about a quote from Thomas Paine that inspires him.

The Churchnet gathering in April will also feature our annual missions banquet to raise funds for partnerships in Cuba and Guatemala. Additionally, there will be times for breakout sessions, fellowship, and worship. Learn more and sign up for this free event on Churchnet's website.
