Brian T. Kaylor serves as an Assistant Professor of Communications Studies at James Madison University (where he teaches advocacy, political communication, rhetorical methods, and public speaking courses), Editorial Assistant for Churchnet, and Contributing Editor for Ethics Daily

Brian has won several awards for news and academic writing, including some from the Baptist Communicators Association, the National Communication Association, the Religion Communicators Council, and the Religious Communication Association. His writings have appeared several publications, including the Birmingham News, CNN.com, Columbia Tribune, Houston Chronicle, Kansas City Star, Roanoke Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Virginian-Pilot, Word&Way, and on WMRA. He has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Anniston Star, Associated Baptist Press, Baptist Press, Columbia Missourian, Columbia Tribune, Montgomery Advertiser, Springfield News-Leader, Texas Observer, The Whitsitt Journal, Winchester Star, and Youthwork.

Brian has a B.A. in Communication and Christian Ministry from Southwest Baptist University, an M.A. in Communication from the University of Missouri, a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Missouri, and studied at a Baptist seminary. He has also taught communication courses at the University of Missouri, Southwest Baptist University, and for the Junior Statesman Program at Northwestern University. He and his wife, Jennifer, were married in June of 2004.

Brian previously served as pastor of Union Mound Baptist Church and worked for Mountain Country Ministries of Tri-County Baptist Association.
